DG MARE organised several workshops within the context of the Energy Transition Partnership. The workshops will follow the main areas identified in the Communication on the Energy Transition in EU fisheries and aquaculture.

The forth workshop Ports: Navigating the Challenges of the Energy Transition in EU Fisheries and Aquaculture took place on 5 November 2024 and focused on the key challenges ports and stakeholders face during the energy transition. Here you can find the report of the workshop.
The Energy Transition Partnership for EU fisheries and aquaculture organised a series of workshops on 11–12 December 2024, focusing on the energy transition and decarbonisation of EU fisheries. On 21 May 2025, during the European Maritime Day (EMD) in Cork, Ireland, the Energy Transition Partnership (ETP) hosted an in-person workshop focusing on "Taking stock of the Energy Transition Partnership towards the roadmap". Here you can find the report of the workshop.
On 17th February 2026 The Energy Transition Partnership held a high-level conference in hybrid format "Navigating Change: Towards the Energy Transition in the EU Fisheries and Aquaculture". Here you can find the report.
The Energy Transition Partnership, together with DG MARE, hosted two hybrid workshop in Brussels and online on 16 April 2026, one “Achieving energy efficiency in fisheries: Towards a common understanding of the energy audit,” bringing together stakeholders of the EU fisheries sector, and the second "EU Aquaculture: How to reconcile growth of the sector with the energy transition?" for stakeholders of the aquaculture sector. At the 2026 European Maritime Day, stakeholders from across the fisheries and aquaculture sectors gathered to discuss the progress of the EU energy transition, launch the ETP Pilot Ambassador Programme, and celebrate innovative solutions.

Support Group Webinars
To support stakeholder dialogue and knowledge exchange, webinars will be organised across all segments of the Energy Transition Partnership for EU fisheries and aquaculture. Each webinar focuses on a specific energy transition theme and produces a concept note to guide discussions within the support group. The first webinar took place at the beginning of November 2024.
