The EU Green Week 2026, under the theme "Investing in a nature-positive economy", brought together policymakers, investors, businesses, researchers, and stakeholders to explore how nature-positive solutions can drive environmental and economic value.

EU4Algae participated in the 17th Monaco Blue Initiative and the 2nd Blue Economy and Finance Forum, held from 27–29 May 2026 under the Presidency of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.

Developed within the I3-4-Seaweed project, this publication examines the evolving biostimulants and biofertilisers market, exploring key trends, policy developments, and the growing role of seaweed-derived solutions in sustainable agriculture.

Featuring a curated selection of simple and creative recipes, the EU4Algae Recipe Collection showcases how algae-inspired ingredients can be incorporated into everyday meals while exploring their culinary potential.

Structured as a 4-week programme, this free online course is meant to support the growing algae sector as it’s increasingly recognised as a key resource in the transition towards a more sustainable and innovative bioeconomy.

The SeaMark Final Conference brought together project partners, researchers, industry representatives, and policymakers to present the project's key results and discuss the future of seaweed-based value chains in Europe.

Developed by the I3-4-Seaweed project, this publication explores the European market landscape, key challenges and opportunities for scaling up cultivation, and the expanding range of applications and products derived from farmed seaweed.

The 6th Seaweed4Health Conference 2026 will take place from 16–19 June 2026 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Taking place just ahead of the European Maritime Day (EMD), the SeaMark Final Conference will be held on 20 May 2026, from 12:30 to 18:00 (EEST / UTC+3), in Limassol, Cyprus.

The Insider’s Perspective series showcases key research breakthroughs, business opportunities, and innovations from EU4Algae stakeholders driving the algae sector forward. 

In this edition, we spotlight Zara Hawkins, ocean advocate and co-founder of Hidden Plastic, a youth-led initiative raising awareness of microplastics and nanoplastics, alongside her work promoting algae-based solutions through SuperSeaweed.

This course will take place at the University of Almería from 6 to 17 July 2026. Delivered as part of the institution’s Study Abroad programme, the course includes 50 hours of teaching activities.

The debut coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Young Algaeneers Symposium (26–29 May 2026, Wageningen, Netherlands), hosted at Wageningen University & Research.
