By joining an active group of organisations, initiatives and people, members of the EU4Ocean Platform benefit from sharing of ideas, build partnerships and join forces to deliver a more coordinated approach to ocean literary activities in Europe.
At the core of the platform is the exchange of expertise, knowledge and best practices in ocean literacy. Members create synergies and new collective initiatives that can reach broader audiences thereby generating larger impact.

What can you contribute?
You have recently become a member of the EU4Ocean Platform. Welcome on board! Did you know you can contribute to EU4Ocean in many different ways?
- Participate in the #MakeEUBlue: Cities in Action campaign;
- Contribute to the members' led Thematic Networking Groups;
- Contribute to the EU4Ocean Coalition events and activities (see the table above);
- Stay tuned for calls related to the Challenge of the Year and the #MakeEUBlue Awards (see the table above);
- Share information about your activities in ocean literacy, recent news and events by contacting the EU4Ocean Platform facilitators and/or by tagging #EU4Ocean, #Youth4Ocean and #EUBlueSchools on social media;
- Learn about the Young Ocean Advocates' projects and take part in the Mentorship Programme;
- Meet with teachers from European Blue Schools and share your knowledge and educational resources!

Thematic Networking Groups
The EU4Ocean Coalition is developing several members’ led Thematic Networking Groups. The objectives of these groups are to connect the dots, enhance networking between EU4Ocean Coalition members, strengthen cooperation and develop new initiatives. Six themes are addressed:
- ‘Let’s bring the ocean into libraries and book fairs across Europe’
- ‘Let’s reduce Plastic Pollution!’
- ‘Let’s cooperate to restore marine habitats!’
- ‘Let's work together on citizen science and education!'
- ‘Let’s connect to the ocean through art!’
- 'Let's strengthen blue skills for a sustainable blue economy!
Each group will be led by a member of the EU4Ocean Platform or the Youth4Ocean Forum. Thematic Networking Groups are open to members of the three EU4Ocean communities - the EU4Ocean Platform, the Youth4Ocean Forum and the Network of European Blue Schools. A multitude of threats including climate change, overfishing and pollution is putting our ocean at risk, and changing course requires us to work together. As part of the EU4Ocean Coalition, the Make Europe Blue campaign is calling on you - citizens, businesses, organisations, authorities, celebrities, educators - to make a pledge to help the ocean. Your pledge is a personal promise or action that will keep our ocean healthy. Every action – even the smallest one - brings change to our ocean!

The EU4Ocean Platform is part of the EU4Ocean Coalition, which connects diverse organisations, projects and people that contribute to ocean literacy and the sustainable management of the ocean. Supported by the European Commission, this bottom-up inclusive initiative aims at uniting the voices of Europeans to make the ocean a concern of everyone. In addition to the Platform, the EU4Ocean Coalition includes the Youth4Ocean Forum and the Network of European Blue Schools.
