2024

On 19 March 2024, the European Atlas of the Seas’ team organised a workshop in Dutch for pupils in the fifth grade of primary school at the De Plataan school in Merchtem (Belgium).

On 11 March 2024, the European Atlas of the Seas was presented during an online workshop organised by the EU4Ocean Coalition and Scientix in the framework of a series of workshops titled "EU4OCEAN SPOW - Plastic Pollution and Working with Ocean Technology". Teachers participating in the workshop learned about the Plastic Pirates project from Ciência Viva and about ways that the Atlas can be used in the classroom from the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) Secretariat.

2023

On 22 March 2023, the European Atlas of the Seas was presented during a workshop at the conference Join the Blue Schools in Den Helder (the Netherlands).

On 26 January 2023, the European Atlas of the Seas’ team organised a workshop in Dutch for primary school pupils in Merchtem (Belgium). Have a look at the presentation which includes a game to help pupils learn how to use the Atlas!

On 30 November 2022, the EMODnet Secretariat made a presentation on the European Atlas of the Seas at the 2022 CommOCEAN conference in Sète (France).

On 5 November 2021, the EMODnet Secretariat presented the European Atlas of the Seas during the session ‘Bringing the sea to the classrooms in the Black Sea countries’ at the ‘Let’s Make the Black Sea Blue!’ event organized by the EU4Ocean Coalition.

On 9 October 2021, the EMODnet Secretariat made a presentation (in Dutch) on the European Atlas of the Seas and Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) at the congress organized by the Association of Flemish Geography Teachers in Antwerp (Belgium).

On 27 September 2021, the EMODnet Secretariat presented the European Atlas of the Seas to teachers during the online workshop ‘Bringing Ocean and Climate to the classroom’ in the framework of the Mediterranean Sea Basin event organized by the EU4Ocean Coalition.

On 27 August 2021, the EMODnet Secretariat presented the European Atlas of the Seas at the online Baltic Sea Basin Event on Ocean Literacy organized by the EU4Ocean Coalition, during the morning session ‘Bringing the Sea to School in the Baltics’ and the afternoon ‘Teachers Training Workshop’.
