Aygün Karlı was born in 1994 in Ankara, Turkey. He completed his undergraduate degree in 2017 in the field of Political Science and Public Administration at Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences-Mülkiye. During his undergraduate education, he had three years of research fellowship experience at Ankara University European Research Center and Ankara University Research Center for Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies. He started his master's degree in Ankara University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Administrative Sciences in 2017, and successfully completed it in 2020. In 2019, he started to work as a full-time research assistant at Atılım University School of Business Department of Political Science and Public Administration, and he still holds this position. His academic fields of study include the blue economy, sustainable development, maritime policy and public policy. He also carries out projects on environmental issues in non-governmental organizations in Turkey.
