Blue Information Technology Applications in the Black Sea

Blue information technology is inspired by the concept of green information technology, and the use of technologies related to the marine environment is created to be both environmentally friendly and beneficial to the environment. Accordingly, related technologies are artificial intelligence, artificial neural networks, deep learning, big data, data mining, blockchain, smart contracts, drone observations, smart weighing systems, satellite systems and digital wave applications. In this direction, the subject of the project consists of a concept called blue information technology and raising awareness about the technologies included in the content of this concept, providing education, integrating it into a certain culture and conducting technical studies with a regional perspective. The aim of the project is to ensure the integration of the concept expressed as blue information technology into the marine policy of Turkey, especially in the Black Sea, and to realize a sustainable blue economy approach. In this context, a pilot zone is selected for the project. In this place, stakeholders of the project will focus on the outputs of the processes of the concept of blue information technology in fishing, shipping, coastal tourism and conservation of marine biodiversity.
