What connects me with the ocean and what does it mean to me?I'm a biologist and marine biologist. I was born by the sea in the north-west of Poland, on the island of Usedom. Even as a child, I knew that I wanted to become an oceanographer. We spent every Sunday with my family watching nature films. I was fascinated by the vastness of the ocean and the organisms that I saw there. The proximity of the Baltic Sea that I had on a daily basis meant that I couldn't imagine my life without it. From an early age, my parents taught me and my sister respect for the Earth, nature and the Ocean. Even as a small child, I told my parents that I wanted to discover new species of seahorses. The road to making these dreams come true was not easy. But, currently I work at the Gdynia Aquarium as a marine educator. There is a sea horse in the logo of the Gdynia Aquarium, so in a way I did it. Thanks to my current job, I have a chance to instill in young people and help the elders discover the love and respect I have for the Ocean. It's a wonderful feeling and sometimes it takes a lot of work. But it's worth doing! The Earth is our home and we have to take care of her.My mission is to ensure that the future generations can live and admire the beauty of life on Earth. The future is in our hands!
