Algae4Schools Website Toolkit
Algae4Schools is a co-creation programme with schools from the EU and associated countries developed by EU4Algae, aiming to increase awareness on algae uses and benefits across younger generations. EU4Algae's webpage hosts an online toolkit with over 50 resources, including repositories of places to visit, stores and recipes, links to educational resources (videos, factsheets/infographics, learning modules) and many activities that can be carried out in classrooms.
To ease the implementation of these activities and conduct Algae Awareness Raising Days in schools, a handbook was prepared, featuring 24 activities divided into six sections according to their type: Arts, Cooking and Tasting, Playing, Science, Sensory Exploration and Story Time. Besides covering different academic fields, these sections also showcase the versatile nature of algae, showing that they can be used as creative materials, food, or cosmetic products, among many others.
