” Collaborate, Restore, Act for the Black Sea” (CRABS)

Within the project “CRABS – Collaborate, Restore, Act for the Black Sea”, students discovered their “blue connection” with the Black Sea through educational and practical activities dedicated to the knowledge and protection of the coastal ecosystem. The project pursued three main objectives: developing knowledge about the fauna and flora of the Black Sea, forming responsible behaviors towards the marine environment and actively involving students in promoting environmental protection.
On the first day, students participated in creative workshops and thematic presentations on the biodiversity of the Black Sea coastal area. They made leaflets, posters and information materials about the representative species of the marine ecosystem, using interactive documentation methods and teamwork.
On the second day, the activities took place within the school, where students participated in discussions and presentations held by experts from the NGO Mare Nostrum on pollution, coastal environment protection and the impact of human activities on the Black Sea. During thematic workshops, students analyzed examples of marine litter, discussed solutions for reducing pollution, and carried out practical ecological awareness activities.
On the third day, students interacted with marine fauna and flora specialists from the Constanța Natural Sciences Museum Complex, deepening their knowledge about marine species and the importance of conserving biodiversity.
The project ended with an exhibition and presentation of materials created by students in PPT format, promoting collaboration, creativity, and responsibility for protecting the Black Sea and the coastal ecosystem.
