The Manta Trust is a UK registered charity that works to conserve mobulid rays, their relatives, and their habitats, through a combination of research, education and collaboration. Our team is comprised of a diverse group of researchers, scientists, conservationists, educators and media experts; working together across 24 global affiliate project bases to share and promote knowledge and expertise. We launched our flagship marine education programme ‘Ocean School’ in the Maldives in 2015, which facilitates hands-on marine education for hundreds of students. The Manta Trust are ambitious to increase our educational influence and are currently creating ocean education teaching packs to provide to schools to engage students with marine and environmental sustainability. We will be actively collaborating with schools in the United Kingdom and keen to engage in partnerships to drive forward projects to improve ocean literacy across the EU and beyond.
