ICMDivulga is the official outreach and educational platform of the Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM-CSIC). ICM-CSIC is the leading marine research centre in Spain and one of the most important in Southern Europe and the Mediterranean region. The ICM is part of the Spanish National Research Council, the leading Spanish research institution and ranked as a top‐5 institution in Europe. The ICM conducts science of excellence related to ocean and climate interactions, conservation and sustainable use of marine life and ecosystems, and impact mitigation of natural and anthropogenic hazards. The Institute’s long experience and a team of near 300 specialists in different fields of oceanographic research (physics, chemistry, geology and biology) give the ICM a broad vision of the marine ecosystem, and the ability to assess changes and human impacts on the environment and seek appropriate solutions. ICM researchers take part in national and international projects and in oceanographic surveys in many regions of the world. The ICM has a long tradition of dissemination, communication and education. ICMDivulga is the platform that includes, among others, the following educational projects and initiatives developed from the ICM-CSIC:1)“The Sea in Depth” (https://elmarafons.icm.csic.es), developing and bringing to classrooms marine educational resources since 2010. 2)“Little oceanographers” (http://icmdivulga.icm.csic.es/pequenos-oceanografos/), a yearly educational initiative addressed to teachers and students.3)Blogs from around the globe, from the different oceanographic campaigns. 4)Citizen projects as “Sea Watchers” (https://www.observadoresdelmar.es) and “Natusfera” (https://natusfera.gbif.es/?locale=en)5)Other initiatives as for example “Magnet project” (https://magnet.cat/projectes/de-lescola-al-mon/).6)ICM-CSIC is commited to build a network of oceanographic schools with the project ResBios (http://resbios.eu) 7)Organisation of open doors' days.8) Supervision of research works of different requirement levels, including high school research works, Master's Degree research works and university's research works and stays.9)Training of teachers and non-formal trainers about different concepts and skills to be developed to acquire knowledge about the Ocean.
