EUCC-D is a non-profit organization (NGO) that belongs to the Coastal & Marine Union, the largest European network in the coastal area. The main office is located in Rostock-Warnemuende at the German Baltic Sea coast. To promote sustainable processes and aid decision making for future-proof coastal development, our interdisciplinary team (12 staff members and interns) is committed to communication and awareness-raising on topics related to coasts and sea especially at the Baltic and the North Sea. Key to our work is stakeholder engagement and understanding their interests. We motivate people across all spectrums to participate, provide platforms for discussion & knowledge sharing and prepare the latest scientific research for easy access / dissemination for practitioners, policy makers and the public including young people and kids. In addition, EUCC-D has developed numerous information and communication tools for various target groups and the public: online learning modules for educational and training purposes, scientific and popular science magazine series, short films, games and information platforms e.g. for marine litter. In addition, the EUCC-D project and photo databases help visualize and provide permanent references for coastal change and development.
