This activity is a lecture series and part of the winter program of The Bremen Society for Natural Sciences. It is organized on the occasion of the halftime of the UN Ocean Decade. We brought together an interesting mix of lecturers who will provide insights into their ongoing research projects. Topics range from the search for the “Endurance”, consequences of decaying war ammunition, deep-sea biodiversity, polar jellyfish to fossil records of biodiversity and heatwaves in the Mediterranean. Lectures will take place every Monday evening in the recently renovated exhibition “The blue continent - Islands in the Pacific” of the Übersee-Museum Bremen. The lecture series is a study course for the students of the University of Bremen and the City University of Applied Sciences Bremen and open to society members and the public. We are expecting about 150 - 170 listeners per lecture. All lectures are followed by an extensive discussion/Q&A session. The lectures (not the discussions) will be recorded and available on YouTube at a later stage.
