Our school is a Learning Community, which is a project based on the application of those successful educational actions that have been scientifically proven to improve educational performance and coexistence. We involve all people who, directly or indirectly, influence the learning and development of students (teachers, families, neighborhood, local associations, and volunteers).
Successful educational actions throughout the school, where the ocean is the key:
Ocean Reading Corner
Literary and Pedagogical Dialogical Gatherings: universal classics are read from 3 to 12 years old (Robinson Crusoe or Moby Dick).
Dialogical Learning: prevention and peaceful resolution of conflict as a prevention of violence using books about the oceans (The gang of 11, The whale that was never enough...) that work on cross-cutting themes such as courage, solidarity, friendship...
Mourning project: We have designed materials and resources that allow us to talk about life and death, in a cross-cutting way, at all educational levels. In the pre-school classrooms, we have found a way to observe natural elements to be able to highlight important aspects about death from the remains of marine animals like ray eggcases or shells!
In addition, we have done different excursions and projects:
I4 (4 years old), 2022-2023: Each school year, we work on an animal, and sharks were chosen.
I5 (5 years old), 2024/2025: Project on volcanoes, islands, and archipelagos formation, submarine volcanoes, and Pacific Ring of Fire.
I4, I5 and 1st Primary (4-6 years old), 2024/2025: Attendance at the show “La cançó del la Mar”.
1st Primary (6 years old),2023/2024 and 2024/2025: Spring Camp at “La Marinada” in Cambrils to do activities on marine biodiversity.
6th Primary (12 years old), 2023/2024 and 2024/2025: Spring Camp in the Ebro Delta: water sports, discovery of the wetlands, boat trip through the Delta.
