The project focused on ocean conservation and active citizenship, aiming to educate local pupils and the local community about the Baltic Sea's well-being and their role in protecting it.
Project activities included a local Baltic Sea matters event with a poster exhibition, info session and workshops at Oriveden Kampus, organized together with local schools and kindergartens, city of Orivesi, Finnish Nature Association, Finnish Environmental Institute, Environmental Warriors of Ruovesi and Ecoality project. Local pupils and students from the Finnish Baltic Sea Project network schools were invited to the event as well as residents.
The whole school community participated in an eTwinning collaboration with a German partner school. At the end of the project period, the students organized a Baltic Sea matters info at school, offering everyone the possibility to learn more about the protection of the Baltic Sea.
