This project is made in the context of having a drought in Catalunya and the cleanliness of the Mediterranean sea. The main objective of this project is to develop the students’ ability to create and execute an awareness campaign in the context of a water scarcity crisis in their hometown, Barcelona and the pollution of the oceans that surround our country. By planning and producing informative posters, the students will apply their language skills to effectively communicate the importance of water conservation, thereby addressing the specific competences of understanding, interpreting, and producing written and multimodal texts.
Students will also have to study the hydrosphere in order to understand and argue the effects it has on the environment. All this is studied to adopt habits which minimise the environmental impact that we have on the planet and to make them compatible with a sustainable development.
At the end of the project, with all that has been studied and discovered, students spread around the school awareness regarding water scarcity and the pollution in the oceans. They present a campaign to the rest of the school where they recommend which water use they have to make, how to reduce its consumption and how to take care of our coasts. When the presentations are over, the posters are hanged in all the water points around the centre so that everyone can remember it.
