"Exploratorii Marii Negre" is an educational project focused on connecting students to the unique marine ecosystem of the Black Sea. The project aims to raise awareness about the biodiversity of the Black Sea, its environmental challenges, and the importance of preserving this unique body of water. Through field trips, hands-on activities, and collaboration with marine scientists, students explore the local marine life, analyze pollution data, and learn about the environmental impacts affecting the Black Sea region.
Objectives:

The objectives of the project are to help students discover the significance of the Black Sea, understand its environmental challenges, and inspire them to take action towards marine conservation. The project also aims to develop students’ skills in environmental research, scientific observation, and community outreach.
Activities:
Exploring local beaches along the Black Sea coast, collecting marine samples, and identifying different species.
Conducting surveys of marine pollution, focusing on plastic waste and its impact on the Black Sea ecosystem.
Collaborating with marine biologists and local environmental organizations to learn about conservation efforts in the Black Sea region.
Organizing awareness campaigns within the school, including creating posters and educational materials about the Black Sea's biodiversity and protection.
Participating in a local clean-up event, where students helped collect and categorize waste found along the shoreline.
Approach: The project utilizes a hands-on, inquiry-based learning approach. Students are directly involved in field research, data collection, and the development of practical solutions to real-world environmental issues. We also incorporate interdisciplinary learning, allowing students to use knowledge from science, geography, and environmental studies to deepen their understanding of the Black Sea's ecosystem. In one activity, students took part in a Black Sea Biodiversity Survey. They visited a local beach and, with the help of marine biologists, identified various marine species, from fish to coastal plants.
