About 100 students will be involved in the planned activities within the project.
Removing single-use plastic / generating zero plastic litter: This topic directly aligns with the project's activities of cleaning the river coast from plastic and other garbage. By addressing plastic pollution in freshwater ecosystems, the project contributes to environmental conservation and sustainability efforts.
2. Open access data on marine and freshwater: Access to data on freshwater resources supports the project's emphasis on monitoring water quality in the Serava River and the aqueduct.
3. De-damming European rivers: Given the project's involvement in activities such as cleaning the coast of the Serava River, addressing issues related to river health and management is crucial. Environmental Awareness and Cleanup Initiative:
-Environmental Awareness and Cleanup Initiative: We wil acssess awareness among 100 students (7-15 years old, Macedonian and Albanian) through surveys. We will engage students in cleaning the coast of the Serava River and the aqueduct, promoting hands-on environmental stewardship. We will utilize real aquarium and green wall construction for hands-on learning.
-Hands-on Learning: We will engage students in constructing the real aquarium and green wall, promoting skill development.
-Eco-friendly Practices: We wll implement waste reduction and recycling initiatives. We will prepare eco-messages in Macedonian and Albanian. Encourage students to create art from collected garbage for the TrashArt exhibition.
-TrashArt Exhibition Preparation: We will guide students in creating art from recycled materials collected during the cleanup. we will prepare for TrashArt exhibition showcasing student creations.
-Cultural Celebration: We will organize cultural exchange activities.
Our project aims to enhance environmental awareness and promote hands-on learning in our community. Through initiatives like riverbank cleanups, constructing a real aquarium and green wall, and creating artwork for the TrashArt exhibition, students are actively engaged in environmental stewardship. The most significant results include increased awareness among students and the community, tangible improvements in waste reduction practices, and a showcase of student creativity through the TrashArt exhibition. We anticipate a lasting impact on both the environment and students' sense of responsibility for protecting natural resources.
