Healthy Ocean

Through this project students explored the oceans and the life beneath the surface. They used variety of ICT tools along with unplugged activities to make the learning experience both interactive and hands-on. They participated in EU Code Week; Safer Internet Day, aligning our activities with the ocean exploration theme. Some of themes we covered : Water Ecosystems Exploration (Virtual aquarium tours, Collaborative creation of a digital water ecosystem map, analysis of water quality) Mythical Underwater Cities (Students explored myths, legends, and historical stories of underwater cities like Atlantis, or create their own ...storytelling, 3d models, digital book, scratch coding..) Water Pollution and Marine Conservation (To raise awareness about water pollution...) Oceanic Art and Culture Exchange (explore how different cultures represent the ocean in their art, music, and traditions...) Real-world underwater challenges (problems and ways to solve problems...) Marine Food Chain and Sustainability (different marine species, food chain, impact of human activity on marine life).
The aim of this project is to engage students in exploring marine ecosystems, underwater myths, and the challenges facing our oceans, while developing essential skills in digital literacy, scientific inquiry, and environmental subjects. Through hands-on activities, coding, virtual tours, and creative projects, students will enhance their understanding of ocean conservation, water ecosystems, and the impact of human activity on marine life.Project also promotes teamwork, problem-solving, and creative expression, fostering a sense of responsibility towards protecting marine environments and our planet .

Project updates

This interdisciplinary project engaged students in an immersive exploration of the ocean and its hidden wonders, blending technology with hands-on learning to create a dynamic educational experience. Through the use of various ICT tools and unplugged activities, students investigated marine ecosystems, mythical underwater cities, and pressing environmental issues, while participating in global initiatives like EU Code Week and Safer Internet Day. They explored diverse themes such as virtual aquarium tours, collaborative mapping of aquatic environments, storytelling through 3D modeling and Scratch coding, and real-world problem-solving around water pollution and marine conservation. Cultural perspectives were also highlighted through the study of ocean-inspired art, music, and traditions from around the world. By examining the marine food chain and the sustainability challenges our oceans face, students developed a deeper understanding of the human impact on marine life. This project not only fostered digital literacy, scientific inquiry, and environmental awareness but also encouraged teamwork, critical thinking, and creative expression—empowering students to become responsible stewards of the planet's aquatic resources.
