SUN&BLUE CONGRESS

• Sun&Blue is a congress promoted and organised by beon. Worldwide, an international full-service agency for event organisation, advertising and communication, production, entertainment and technology that operates all over the world and has environmental commitment in all its activities. It is an initiative sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism and External Action of the Andalusian Regional Government of Spain, the City Council of Almería, the Provincial Council of Almería and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development of the Regional Government of Andalusia, together with other private institutions.
• The purpose with this Congress is to bring together a wide range of international key players in the field of sustainable tourism and blue economy, including political institutions, destination management organizations, scientific institutions, associations, and private companies to meet and share strategies to move from theory to joint action in the management of blue tourism destinations in terms of innovation, digitization, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.
• The main action is to debate, updating and share new visions on the main challenges of Tourism and Blue Economy: energy, sustainability, governance, training, accessibility, etc. to contribute to creating a stronger Blue Economy and Blue Tourism, involving society and improving the life of coastal zone residents. Also to develop specific solutions for each segment of Blue Tourism: Beaches, Ports and Cruises, Nautical Sports, Culture and Gastronomy, Hospitality.
• In addition to the main action, during the year 2024, different communication actions have been programmed with the aim of disseminating the objectives and themes of the project and promoting active participation:
_Presentation at the University of Almeria the results of the expedition "La España Azul" carried out by Nacho Dean, Ambassador of the Sun&Blue Congress. This event was part of the European Maritime Days in My Country.
_Coastal and seabed cleaning action, awareness and promotion of the circular economy on the beach of Las Salinas (Cabo de Gata). An action within the framework of Sun&Blue actions, sponsored by Coca-Cola's Circular Seas initiative, with the collaboration of the Almeria City Council, the Chelonia association, the Legion and the El Alquián Secondary School.
_Sun&Blue Research, a section focused on the promotion and exchange of knowledge about the Economy and Blue Tourism with the goal to promote understanding and collaboration between university researchers and professionals from companies and institutions in the tourism sector. A point of debate and meeting for academics and researchers related to the conservation and economic valuation of large aquatic spaces and, especially, the tourism industry.
