Ocean conservation

This year, we have submitted an Erasmus+ project and the European Commission has validated its funding. The project will start in 2025. Its name is Re-Sea and the organisation I work for ENOS, together with other European countries, will develop this project related to environmental conservation through sustainable tourism. The idea is to develop restoration initiatives, an innovative approach, through outdoor sports that take place in marine ecosystems. Considering that the tourism sector is one of the main economic sectors in the ocean sector, it is necessary to promote the restoration of marine ecosystems.

The impact of these projects often has its limitations, associated with limited duration and resources, and therefore I would like to develop a parallel project that would allow for increased dissemination of the results. The aim of my project is to give a voice to young people and professionals working in the marine areas (sust. tourism). To this end, through an intergenerational approach, a series of video episodes will be produced in which the testimony of these people who dedicate their lives to the protection of the ocean will be recorded. In an increasingly polarised society where consensus on the need to protect the oceans is scarce and often seen as a political choice, the voice of those communities and individuals who dedicate all their efforts to protect the most important ecosystem for life on planet earth needs to be communicated and heard.
