“A Drop of Water eTwinning Project" is a special educational project that aims to create an intercultural interaction between students by emphasizing the importance of water. The project aims to strengthen the awareness that water is not only a resource but also one of the basic elements of life. Students from different countries and schools aim to create an intercultural interaction between students and students. They came together and had an educational and interactive learning experience on topics such as water use, water conservation, water pollution and the effects of global warming on water resources. This project aims to contribute to the development of students' environmental awareness, increase their intercultural understanding and produce solutions by working together. "A "Drop Water eTwinning Project" invited students to a motivating journey on science, environment, and intercultural cooperation, allowing them to discover the power of water and gain a global perspective.
With our project, our students will develop behaviors such as saving money while using water, not polluting water, knowing water resources, storing and using rainwater, recycling used clothes, preventing pollution by saving or recycling vehicles that harm nature, encouraging modern agriculture in field irrigation and encouraging drip irrigation. We carried out activities that would ensure behavioral development. We have 10 Türkiye and 1 Azerbaijani partners. We exhibited the alphabet of our project, our work on the boards and on the website, and made a joint slogan with our partners. Our final product is an e-book, our storybook made by teachers and students in mixed school teams. We made our students the main element of our project by planning collaborative, memorable, educational and enjoyable events that we supported with web2 tools.
Aims of our project:
1. The project aims to raise awareness of individuals, communities and businesses about water saving.
2. In the project, strategies are developed to support the sustainable management of water resources and promote the effective use of water.
3. The project aims to take precautions against factors that pollute water resources. To carry out awareness-raising activities on wastewater management, water treatment technologies and pollution prevention measures.
In the literature review, it was revealed that there had been similar studies in schools in Turkey before, but there was no comprehensive study on the importance of water. Within the scope of the project, learning by doing, demonstration and problem solving methods were used. Surveys via Google forms were used to compare project results and collect data.
We set out with the slogan "We are here for water reasons, not for water reasons." We created awareness among our students that water is our most valuable treasure.
1) We made our students and their families active participants by communicating with our project partners through online meetings and Twinspace pages.
2) We raised awareness among our students that water should be used as much as necessary and should not be polluted in our homes and other areas. We had a mass coastal cleaning done on Environment Day.
3) We designed a bag to be made from a t-shirt in order to reduce the water used in washing our clothes and to improve manual skills. By involving our students and parents, we made bags from t-shirts.
4) In order to pollute our water less, we used technology more effectively by "producing soap that does not harm water and is non-chemical" together with our students.
5) We enabled our students to collect rainwater in small groups or individually. We enabled them to use the water they collected for feeding animals and growing plants.
Our students understood better the travel-observation technique in the activities, how we should act in which situations, the drama technique, doing a given task, taking responsibility throughout our project by experiencing a given task in the classroom or a
