Our project aims to involve the entire local community, starting with our students. Considering that it is our moral duty as parents and teachers to create attractive and interesting activities, the project focuses on instilling values and developing attitudes necessary in acquiring knowledge related to environmental education and in preserving the local Danube area.
The Objectives of this project are:
- Improving the quality of the environment along the Danube by directly involving the students;
- Developing the civic spirit and the ability of students to make decisions related to the Danube issues, both within the school and within the local community;
- Promoting green education as a permanent and sustainable education – an essential factor in shaping the personality of young citizens, with a view to social integration;
- Stimulating teamwork and close collaboration between members of the school community, between them and the local community;
- Popularization of the experience gained from the environmental education project.
The activities achieved give students the possibility to freely express themselves, to enjoy acquiring knowledge creatively.
These activities bring value to the instructive activity of the school and also a surplus of information to students. In this way the formal and non-formal learning experiences complete and enlarge various forms of participating and involving in a series of activities and projects which lead to their development as a personality.
Extracurricular activities mainly the field trips provide the powerful learning experience by interconnecting the information acquired about the land and the Danube – local area. During these fields trips students will be able to acknowledge the economical potential of the local area, thus developing their entrepreneurship skills. The importance of maintaining a healthy environment and a ”clean Danube” is once again emphasized during these field trips and practical workshops.
