OBJECTIVES:
Knowing and safeguarding aquatic environments close to pupils
To develop sensitivity to the protection of the water environment.
Develop knowledge of the marine environment in its complexity in relation also to the man-made environment.
To build experiences that create feelings of topophilia with the water environment.
RECIPIENTS: The project is aimed at classes in the "Dante Alighieri" elementary school plexus. The classes are composed as follows:
Two first grade for a total of 41 pupils
Two fourth grade for a total of 43 pupils
Two fifth grade for a total of 34 pupils
PROJECT SUMMARY:
First subunit: Project enters school:
Intervention of the "Bacchiglione" reclamation consortium, which is in charge of the operation and maintenance of plants and waterways in our area. The consortium will make two educational proposals within the school:
"Taking action for the climate: Concrete actions for the safeguarding of the environment."
"Understanding and respecting the aquatic flora and fauna of our territory."
Second subunit: the project inside the school
Let's make an aquatic environment in the classroom: an aquarium is brought into the classroom and a complex marine environment is made with plants, objects and living things. This phase of the project will work on pupils' responsibility in taking care of the artificial aquatic environment in a cross-curricular way during the school year. In a transdisciplinary way, teaching activities will be proposed that focus on observing this environment using different methodologies and including technological tools (such as virtual tours or augmented reality).
Third subunit: school goes out for the project
Visit to the waterway adjacent to the school. Here we will also observe the life forms that revolve around the marine environment although they are not strictly part of it.
Visit to the watercourse in the center of Piove di Sacco where there are also hydraulic locks: the aquatic environment in the city context, it is part of our daily life.
Participate in a national and international contest (“L’acqua che vogliamo” by UNESCO)
