Aim
Build capacity on sustainable ways to care for their natural resources in light of climate change and its challenges
Objectives:
1. Educate them on the importance of the ecosystem services provided by Biodiversity
2. Educate them on the implications of illegal means of fishing and illegal trade of endangered marine species
3. Empower/ support their livelihoods via upcycling and recycling skills of plastic waste and Nipa palm products using the circular economy model
4. Raisse 5000 mangrove seedlings in a nursery
5. Train them on biodiversity monitoring
Target number of participants (60 persons; 20/LGA) comprising; fishermen and women, youth groups
Expected impact: 10% increase in knowledge of ecosystem services of biodiversity.
5% reduction in bycatch incidents, poaching and habitat degradation.
15% increase in alternative livelihoods
