- Description
The AKOA project aims to create a mobile application connecting users committed to ocean preservation. Users can easily engage in events such as clean-ups, ecological conferences, and wildlife observations using the app. AKOA also provides a platform for individuals, associations, and organizations to declare and promote their own events. The goal is to directly reach an audience eager to participate in marine environmental preservation.
A key feature of AKOA is the AKOADEX, a virtual index dedicated to marine fauna and flora. The objective is to create a playful environment to raise awareness by providing knowledge about marine ecosystems and sparking curiosity about it because, when you know something well, you're more sensitive to protecting it.
The project primarily targets young people and anyone interested in behavior change regarding the environment.
Project investors are mainly institutions providing grants to support such initiatives. We're also planning to set up an advertising space between a number of slides to showcase our future local partners and environmentally-friendly companies.
Associations can also financially contribute by subscribing to plans in order to benefit from our expertise in setting up their events, to facilitate contacts with other associations in the Akoa network, etc.The AKOA project began in November 2023 and is expected to launch a first beta version of our applicationin early 2025.
