- Description
Our vision addresses the ocean's warming and acidification due to rising CO2 levels, causing irreversible harm to marine ecosystems. Our mission focuses on decarbonizing fossil-fueled ships with innovative sailing systems. We're embarking on an odyssey aboard the world's most energy-efficient zero-carbon ship, the MODX 70, a collaboration between Océan Développement and Aeroforce. This cutting-edge vessel, a "floating laboratory of innovations," features Aeroforce's inflatable, retractable wings—a disruptive solution for decarbonizing maritime transport. Our first on-sea mission will begin at the end of 2024 in the Mediterranean Sea, where we will deploy our three programs : LEARN : Welcome “Ocean & Climate” scientific experts to study the impact of climate change on the Ocean and the importance of marine biodiversity to combat it.
SHARE : Raise awareness on the importance of the Ocean through the creation of educational content, events organization, and international interventions of the Race for Water’s teams.
ACT : Promote and apply “Zero Carbon Emission” technological solutions used on board to contribute to the decarbonization of the maritime world. After this first mission, we have activities planned through 2027.
