Research related to solve marine and societal challenges

The project aims to safeguard the distinctive marine biodiversity inhabiting the Mediterranean waters encircling the coastal cities by employing a combination of advocacy, immersive events, and networks. By fortifying the foundation of peace-building within communities, its overarching goal is to foster awareness and influence public opinion. Central to this mission is the cultivation of public consciousness through the establishment of a dynamic youth action network, supplemented by comprehensive research into the prevailing sentiments regarding the state of the sea and the protection of the sea to identify the incidents that affect marine life and other data linked to Maritime sociology to build a database for the basis of advocacy that will be a pathway for policies foreseeing raising awareness in education.

Armed with the data gathered, the project employs targeted advocacy efforts, to influence the local authorities and decision-making mechanisms to facilitate collaboration between the two Cypriot communities, namely the Greek and Turkish Cypriots, seeking to strengthen the bond among young Cypriots and establish fruitful partnerships with an array of NGOs and impassioned activists to form the first network of Cyprus for seas and marine life. This strategic network holds the promise of galvanizing cooperation between both communities, focusing their joint efforts on the preservation of Mediterranean marine life by strengthening the dialogue and reconciliation.
