The project "Amar el Mar: Corales y Vida" has an initial goal of restoring one hectare of coral reefs within the "Parque Nacional Natural Islas Corales del Rosario y San Bernardo". We will be achieving this through collaboration with local authorities, ethnic communities, and experts. In addition to coral restoration, our project prioritizes educating these communities, promoting conservation, and fostering protection through workshops and educational initiatives. We aim to cultivate a shared sense of awareness and responsibility. Local communities in the archipelago play a vital role in coral reef protection and conservation, given their reliance on natural resources. Our education program seeks to help individuals understand the complexities of coral reefs and their interconnectedness with social, economic, and cultural aspects. This approach will give people the knowledge, values, behaviors, and practical skills needed for sustainable actions. Our environmental education isn't just about teaching; it actively engages communities in the restoration and protection of the coral reef ecosystem of San Bernardo. The project's long-term goal is to expand the restoration and protection of coral reef hectares, thereby benefiting the economy of local communities and ensuring a sustainable food supply. To raise awareness among local and international audiences, we will consistently create photographic and audiovisual content to showcase our activities and efforts.
