Construction of a 225-metre-long groyne – a rigid hydraulic structure built perpendicularly from a seashore, interrupting water flow and limiting the movement of sediment

The groyne is made of sand-filled geotextile tubes, rock and concrete cube berms
Total project cost is € 6.4 million, of which € 4.7 million is allocated from the ERDF as co-funding
Main result – coastal accumulation and protection of the Liepāja Wastewater Treatment Plant from being washed into the sea
