Baltic Sea ferromanganese concretions as a metal resource

Short description of the action

In this project, ferromanganese concretions will be recovered from the bottom of the Baltic Sea and then cultured in controlled conditions in GTK’s laboratory. The objective is to monitor the binding of metals in the concretions and the factors influencing the growth and dissolution of concretions, as well as to study the recovery (renewability) of concretion fields on the seabed after dredging.
