By combining the expertise of each stakeholder with smart monitoring tools and data transparency, the kelp industry can accelerate. Our goal is to build the bridge between technology and kelp cultivation. Why? Because for kelp farming to scale globally, monitoring is essential to create efficient functioning kelp farms.Currently, kelp cultivation is in its early stages and to accelerate the development, we focus on two main activities:1. As engineers we work together with kelp farmers, marine biologists and data scientists to close the knowledge gaps of kelp cultivation and help scale the industry through smart solutions.2. Through our monitoring works we provide high quality and quantity of data that is valuable to the scientific community and helps understand and quantify the impact of kelp on the climate. This improves awareness of which the benefits are educated among companies, schools and entrepreneurs. The gathered knowledge can be used by non-profit organizations to further support farmers. At the same time, data transparency and quantified impact provides support for governments and companies. The project was initiated at the start of 2022. We won't stop until we are able to support kelp farmers globally with the knowledge they need to keep protecting our planet and the ocean. The project has 5 contributors. Of which 2, Jip & Tom, are working full-time. The advisory board still consists of close relatives, who help us with strategic decisions.
