Space and the Arctic

Under the auspices of the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Swedish National Space Board and the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute together with the European Space Agency and the European Commission are jointly organising this workshop which will be hosted at the World Trade Centre, Stockholm, Sweden from 20 to 21 October 2009. The conference will start with a plenary session and follow with three parallel sessions (environment and climate change, transport safety and security and sustainable development). There will then be a wrap-up session that aims to see how space technology could help achieve some of the aims set out in the Commission Communication.
