New version of MARATLAS

A new version of the European Atlas of the Seas has been released today Monday 11^th of June.

This new version of the Atlas comprises notable improvements as usability, design, functionalities (create your map, sharing and embedding capacity, …), etc. Many new map layers coming from the EMODnet portals have been integrated to the Atlas catalogue and the update of the back catalogue is on-going (like for instance EUROSTAT layers).

We have implemented new methods to maintain the Atlas in a never achieved efficient manner. The Atlas is now available in a fourth EU language: Estonian. Why Estonian?

The French Nausicaa Aquarium as partner of the MARINA project is highly interested to use the Atlas as an interactive gateway to explore the European Seas and marine knowledge. A first MARINA itinerant exhibition will settle down in Estonia next September. We will tell you more about this exhibition at the next Steering Committee meeting in September.
