Follow the Fleet

The Irish Maritime Development Office's educational website www.followthefleet.ie is planning an e-launch of a a series of four animations based on the winning essays written by pupils who participated in the inaugural Follow the Fleet schools essay competition.

The animations bring to life the imaginative voices and interpretations of the children on the three themes in the essay competition, Maritime History, Trading and Ireland & Technology and the Mariner. Entries for the first Follow the Fleet competition sponsored by Transas came from the length and breath of the country and were written by primary school children between the ages of 8 and 12 who participate in the Follow the Fleet education programme.
