Description
The EU4Ocean coalition is back at EMD!
This year at EMD 2024 in Svenborg, the EU4Ocean Coalition will build upon the ocean literacy dialogue initiated in Ravenna. Various platforms will facilitate discourse: workshops, booths, networking spaces, and opportunities to meet EU4Ocean coalition members – including the chance to find partners for the call for proposals for the 2024 Challenge of the Year or to discover the 2024 winners of the MakeEUBlue Awards!

Where else can you find us?
- During both days of EMD, at our EU4Ocean booth. The three communities of the Coalition will demonstrate their actions (through hands-on experiences, presentations of blue school initiatives, games, and interactive activities) aimed at enhancing capacity (through youth initiatives, expert sessions, and networking opportunities) and deliberating on the most effective ways to contribute to collective actions.
- Join a workshop on 31 May (15:00-16:15) “How can Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) host and support Ocean Literacy”. This interactive session will explore the linkages between Ocean Literacy, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors. Drawing from business practices supporting ocean sustainability and literacy, the workshop will identify conditions for corporate involvement in ocean literacy as part of CSR strategies and initiatives, aligning with the requirements and ethos of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive while fostering sustainable changes in business culture and practices. The workshop will be informed by a survey conducted among organizations attending EMD by Young Ocean Professionals to gauge current CSR and sustainability practices.
- Lastly, join us at the EMD2024 closing ceremony for the announcement of the winners of our annual MakeEUBlue Awards. Public voting for the winners will commence soon; be sure to review the submitted proposals!
Don't miss out on the sessions:
