Time: 09:00-17:00registration closes 13 November 2015The 5th event of the Maritime Spatial Planning conference series will be dedicated to the relationship between MSP and the Marine Environment. Maritime Spatial Planning is a tool to address challenges and develop opportunities in the relationship between maritime economic activities and environmental protection, in a context of growing and competing uses of marine space.The main purpose of the conference series is to share experiences on Maritime Spatial Planning with representatives of maritime industries, national authorities and non-governmental organizations and to take stock of the expectations and requirements of the stakeholders.The Conference on MSP and the Marine Environment will trigger discussions on the relation between Maritime Spatial Planning and the Environment by addressing relevant and interesting issues in four interactive sessions:
- Linking the Marine Strategy Framework Directive and the Maritime Spatial Planning Directive;
- Maritime Spatial Planning and Marine Protected Areas;
- The Ecosystem Approach in practice;
- Linking the Regional Seas Conventions toMaritime Spatial Planning.
