Discover these fishes with surprising biology, whose evolution allowed them to adapt to new environments and to acquire unique characteristics in the animal kingdom.

However, many syngnathid species are endangered and very sensitive and vulnerable in an environment subject to increasing destruction by the action of human beings. The consequences for wild populations are alarming and their future requires the development of adequate awareness and conservation plans.
