The “Sustainable Development at the Black Sea” (SUST-BLACK) took place in Bucharest on 8-9 May 2019 at the House of the Romanian Parliament (and an optional field trip in Danube-Delta on 10-11 May 2019).
The conference is a Romanian EU Council Presidency event, supported by the European Commission.
SUST-BLACK is the event where the ”Bucharest Declaration” of the scientific community was issued and the Strategic Research and Innovation agenda for the Black Sea launched. Important contributions to this document have already been made by researchers and stakeholders from countries in the Black Sea basin and elsewhere in Europe, providing an excellent example of science diplomacy in this area. The Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for the Black Sea will play a major role in better knowing the marine basin itself, its opportunities for Blue Growth and for healthier and wealthier communities along its shores.
