About BlueInvest
The blue economy is transitioning from the traditionally known maritime infrastructure and operations to a new sustainable, tech-driven and fast-paced circular ecosystem connecting oceans, coastal areas, in-land waters, and space.
BlueInvest is an EU platform and technical assistance facility that aims to accelerate ocean-based technologies and solutions to unlock innovation and related investment opportunities in 10 identified blue sectors:
- Aquaculture;
- Blue Biotechnology;
- Blue Renewable Energy;
- Blue Tech & Ocean Observation;
- Coastal & Maritime Tourism;
- Environmental Protection & Regeneration;
- Fisheries;
- Shipbuilding & Refit;
- Shipping & Ports;
- Water Management.
BlueInvest drives this transformation by improving the investment readiness of early-stage businesses, SMEs, and scale-ups and their access to finance through tailored coaching, networking, and matchmaking opportunities.
Its activities also include dedicated blue economy events, investor capacity-building, the BlueInvest Project Pipeline (i.e. a database of innovative SMEs of the blue economy with more than 600 projects), and comprehensive investment landscape reports—all supported by and hosted through the BlueInvest community platform with over 1,800 members.
