About the ETP
The Energy Transition Partnership (ETP) is a collaborative platform designed to accelerate the energy transition in the EU fisheries and aquaculture sector. Launched by the European Commission in 2023, the ETP tackles technical, financial, and regulatory barriers by bringing together stakeholders to create practical, actionable solutions.
Through thematic dialogues and workshops, participants address critical areas such as innovation, technology, skills, and finance. These efforts contribute to the development of a voluntary roadmap, featuring measurable milestones and concrete actions, guiding the sector toward climate neutrality by 2050.
The ETP also serves as a hub for sharing knowledge, showcasing best practices, and highlighting innovative projects that support the energy transition. Stakeholders can collaborate to discuss challenges, explore strategic approaches, and contribute to shaping the sector's future.
ETP Support Group
The ETP invites stakeholders committed to accelerating the energy transition to collaborate voluntarily as part of the ETP Support Group, driving progress across key sectors. Through open communication and practical knowledge-sharing, the Support Group aims to develop an actionable plan by the end of 2025, including measurable milestones to support the transition to a sustainable future.
The Support Group comprises 10 working groups and their coordinators, each focusing on a key sector: Distant Water Fisheries, Large-Scale Fisheries, Small-Scale Coastal Fisheries, Inland Aquaculture, Offshore Aquaculture, Ports, Fishing Shipbuilding, Processing Industry, Research & Academia, and NGOs.
With the guidance of the coordinators, these groups bring together stakeholders to address specific challenges, share ideas, and develop tailored solutions for each sector’s unique needs.
