The I3-4-Seaweed project, a pan-European initiative promoting sustainable growth in the macroalgae sector through interregional cooperation, in collaboration with Hogeschool VIVES University, has released a new publication titled Seaweed in Food: Insights, Opportunities, and Industry Needs for the European Food Sector (2026). Designed as a practical guideline for food companies, the report brings together key information on the use of whole seaweed biomass as a food ingredient, supporting businesses in evaluating, developing, and scaling seaweed-based food applications.
