A Unique Setting in the Heart of Limassol
European Maritime Day (EMD) 2026 will take place at the Carob Mill event premises, located in the old town of Limassol. This central venue will host the high-level sessions, exhibition and part of the workshops. Additional workshops will be organised in two nearby event spaces, ensuring a compact and accessible event layout.
A Key Moment for Europe’s Maritime Community
European Maritime Day is the annual occasion to celebrate “maritime Europe” and shine a spotlight on the diversity of maritime sectors and sea-related activities across the continent – from fisheries and shipping to marine innovation, ocean protection and the growing role of algae in a sustainable blue economy.
The event highlights the crucial role that seas and oceans play in Europe’s economy, environment and everyday life, while encouraging reflection on their sustainable use.
Where Ocean Leaders Meet
EMD 2026 will once again provide an engaging and interactive experience, offering participants the opportunity to explore the current state of play across a wide range of blue economy and marine environment topics. The programme will feature inspirational speakers, thematic sessions, stakeholder workshops, an exhibition and numerous networking opportunities.
The event targets professionals from businesses, governments, public institutions, NGOs and academia, as well as EU citizens with an interest in the sea.
Organisation and Next Steps
EMD 2026 is organised by the European Commission, the Shipping Deputy Ministry of the Republic of Cyprus, and the Municipality of Limassol.
Further details will be published progressively on the official website as preparations advance. This will include information on the venue and accommodation.
Save the date and stay tuned – more news, programme highlights and opportunities to engage will be shared soon.
