EU4Algae’s Annual Meeting will take place on 8 December 2025 in Riga, Latvia, at the Radisson Blu Latvija Hotel, setting the scene for the AlgaEurope Conference, which kicks off just after.

Held in a hybrid format, the event will once again bring together key stakeholders from across Europe’s algae community to review this year’s progress, showcase EU4Algae outcomes, and shape priorities for the year ahead.

Around 50 participants, including representatives from the European Commission, consortium partners, and algae experts, will join the discussions to ensure EU4Algae’s work remains aligned with and beneficial to the broader community.

What to Expect

The detailed agenda and registration form will be shared soon. Highlights from this year’s programme include:

  • Opening remarks from DG MARE and CINEA
  • Updates on 2025 milestones
  • A follow-up on the 2nd EU Algae Awareness Summit
  • Discussions within the EU4Algae Member State Network
  • Progress updates on the Algae Farmers Toolkit, Industry Roadmap, and data initiatives

The meeting will conclude with a special panel that will also serve as the 4th EU4Algae Thematic Webinar, titled: “Scaling up Algae Innovation: Public Funding and Investment Opportunities for Start-ups and SMEs at EU Level”.

Moderated by Adrien Vincent from the EU4Algae Team, the panel will feature representatives from major EU programmes and initiatives — including EIC, EIT Food, CBE JU, Horizon Europe (DG RTD), BlueInvest, and the EIB — to explore how public funding and investment can help scale algae innovation across Europe.
