The natural heritage of our Mediterranean Sea is of inestimable value, with unique natural habitats, thousands of plant species and numerous animal species. This biodiversity, that is, genetic diversity that manifests itself in a multiplicity of fauna and flora species, is indispensable for humanity. To safeguard this heritage, we believe it is essential that every single citizen and, in his representation, every territorial administration, undertake to work constantly with a view to Sustainable Tourism. In order for this to happen, it is necessary to attract, and therefore amplify, the attention of society towards the issues concerning marine environments. The creation of a new civic sense in which the value of respect for the sea and a high sense of individual responsibility is included, can be created starting from an effective and fun environmental education of future generations using one of the sports that is most concerned with protection. environmental: underwater. In fact, understood as a sport with zero environmental impact, those who practice scuba diving are a direct witness to the changes in our sea, from the increase in the presence of pollutants, to the consequences of immigration of alien species. Therefore, an awareness of the state of the marine environment that surrounds us derives from diving, a greater awareness of oneself and others through the discovery of the aquatic medium, and therefore a greater responsibility in the protection of those habitats that, thanks to cylinders, they can finally be made accessible to all.
