Guilherme Moura Paredes

Guilherme Moura Paredes is a civil engineer, specialised in coastal and offshore structures, and recipient of the prestigious Marie Sklowdoska-Curie Actions fellowship. He has always been passionate about water, technology and nature, and he brings that passion into his career. That is why he works in the development of marine renewable energy, floating wind turbines, and offshore aquaculture. It allows him to contribute to a better planet, and also to help creating a healthy relation between engineering and nature. Most of his career he has worked in academia, doing research on the dynamics of marine energy systems and their components, although he has also worked for some time in private consultancy. He is now focusing his attention to the possible negative impacts of marine energy systems on the ocean environment
