Delfini del Ponente APS

Delfini del Ponente APS Association is an NGO based in Italy, in the Ligurian Region. Our main goal is to provide scientific data on the presence and distribution of marine biodiversity in the coastal area in the Western Ligurian Sea, particularly on cetaceans, seabirds and sea turtles. We collect data using standardized scientific protocols through experienced marine biologists helped by students joining the team for at least a month of education in the field of marine cetacean research. The data are analyzed and published in peer reviewed journals in order to become available for the management and conservation of the rich biodiversity characterizing the area. Great effort is also devolved to environmental education and outreach activities to involve the local community and the many tourists frequenting the area, in the protection of the natural landscape and marine fauna.
