Accessible, high quality ocean data is the foundation for a knowledge-driven, ocean-literate society, for a sustainable green transition for the blue economy, and for evidence-based ocean governance. The European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) pledges to increase citizen engagement, to ingest citizen science data and to simplify the user experience for all, centralising access to Europe’s diverse in situ observations, data and information and working with Copernicus and others towards an open and transparent EU marine data space to generate the knowledge we need for the benefit of all.
