I pledge to take a bag with me every time I am at the beach, in my kayak, diving or otherwise near, on or in the sea in order to collect the horrible rubbish harming our ocean and the life therein.

I was raised by the ocean. It is a part of me. Seeing changes to the local marine flora and fauna and the increase in plastic garbage in and around the coast within my short lifetime is deeply disturbing to me. The ocean moderates our climate, it provides us with life, food, with serenity and excitement. The ocean is more than 70 per cent of our planet's surface. How can we possible abandon this vital part of our world. We need to do more, each and every one of us, and we need to do it now.
