EU4Ocean Online Trainings ECOPs: 'Marine Data for Sustainable Developent: FAIR, CARE, TRUST'. 21-24 October 2025 (15-17 PM CEST)

The Online Training for ECOPs titled “Marine Data for Sustainable Development: FAIR, CARE, TRUST” will include four training sessions that will take place over four consecutive afternoons on 21-24 October 2025. This training is designed to equip ECOPs with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to contribute to equitable and transparent marine data systems. Participants will explore how to apply the principles of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), CARE (Collective Benefit, Authority to Control, Responsibility, Ethics), and TRUST (Transparency, Responsibility, User Focus, Sustainability, Technology) in marine data management.

The third session, scheduled on 23 October 2025 from 15:00 to 17:00 CEST, will be dedicated to making ocean knowledge open and engaging for all. A 10-minutes presentation on the Atlas will enable participants to

  • discover the European Atlas of the Seas as a multilingual ocean literacy tool;
  • learn how to explore the catalogue of map layers;
  • find out how they can create their own maps with the ‘My Locations’ and ‘My Notes’ tools.

Thank you to the organisers of the training for inviting the Atlas team to participate in and contribute to this interesting event!
